Are some rapes more serious than others?
Ken Clarke says he 'made the wrong choice of words' when he initially seemed to make that suggestion to Victoria Derbyshire on 5 live yesterday.
The Justice Secretary has now clarified his comments. He says he believes that all rape is serious and should be treated as such.
But some people do think that different grades of rape should be written into law as a way of increasing the conviction rate.
