Series celebrating the British countryside. Joe Crowley teams up with adventurer and endurance cyclist Mark Beaumont to explore the Perthshire Highlands.
Joe Crowley teams up with adventurer and endurance cyclist Mark Beaumont to go on a journey through the Perthshire Highlands.
Starting at the tiny hamlet of Amulree, Mark takes Joe on a route he used in training for his record-breaking solo trip round the world. After cycling through the beautiful and remote Glen Quaich, they take on their first hill climb, where disaster strikes; Joe manages to break the bike Mark has provided for him.
On his visit to Perthshire, Joe also visits one of the area's strangest locations. Hidden among the hills is Cultybraggan which, known as Camp 21 during the Second World War, was a prisoner of war camp housing some of the most dangerous and fanatical elements of the German army.
