Deaf photography exhibition: Exhibition organiser, Phil Arnold talks about the community photo project 'Conversations' which is a photography exhibition put together by deaf people in both Syria and Scotland. The exhibition captures elements of Syrian culture as well as sign language used in both cultures. It also highlights issues relating to deaf people and hopes to break down stereotypes and encourage the wider community to 'listen to their photos'.
Lynne MacKenzie the curator of the RGI Kelly Gallery and artist Simon Lawrie, who has curated several of the annual exhibitions tell us how they're marking the 150th anniversary of the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts.
The 27th of May is the opening date of the British Art Show 7: In the Days of the Comet and sees the return of the show to Glasgow after a period of 21 years, back when Glasgow was the Cultural Capital of Europe. This year marks the first time the venues where it will be held (CCA, GoMA and Tramway) have come together for the staging of a single exhibition. Critic Moira Jeffrey and British Art Show curator Tom Morton give us a flavour of what visitors can expect from this year's exhibition.
The British Art Show features work by Karla Black, who will be representing Scotland at the 2011 Venice Biennale. This major international arts exhibition throws opens its pavilion doors to an expectant public on Saturday. Alan Jones is there to give us his first hand account of the international art world in Venice.
