Do Asians make bad tourists?
Do Asians make bad tourists? Plus it's our cricket hour, and we talk about Afridi, England v Sri Lanka and the climax to IPL4.
At 1- Do Asians make bad tourists?
We're not talking about when they go back home for family visits but can Asians ever really enjoy traditional beach holidays, european city breaks, or even trips to the Lake district, Cornwall or the countryside?
We're asking this because of the experiences of one of the team last weekend. She went away with her mates to Marbella and saw an Asian family there, but they didn't get really get it.
They went down to the beach, the elders in Salwar kameez and Saris, everyone else was either in swimwear or Armani. There were about fifteen of them, there for a family holiday, talking loudly and generally being very different to the cocktails and bling crowd already there. The producer and her friends were so freaked out by the auntie jis they had to move.
Does this ring a bell with you? What experiences have you had on what you might call the sort of traditional holidays British people might go on? Someone else on the team was embarrassed by people haggling in a chocolate shop in Belgium, another talks about the amazement of the locals on a seeinng Asians on holiday in the British countryside.
Tell us your stories, what happened when you dared to go on a holiday that wasn't back home?
After 2- Its our cricket hour, we'll be talking Afridi, England v Sri Lanka and the climax to IPL4.
