Penny Smith sits in for Claudia Winkleman. Actor-director Richard Wilson talks about The Pride, which he is directing in Sheffield. Charles Gant reviews new films.

Penny Smith sits in for Claudia and talks to actor director Richard Wilson who is directing The Pride at Sheffield Theatres' Studio Theatre. The Pride is Alexi Kaye Campbell's debut play, an exploration of what happens between men and women, it's about loyalty, loss and having the courage to stand up for who you really are.

She meets actors David Yelland and Lizzy McInnerny who discuss their roles in Sir Peter Hall's Henry IV parts 1 and 2 at Bath Theatre Royal.

Vicky Featherstone; Artistic Director and Chief Executive of the National Theatre of Scotland tells us about "5 Minute Theatre" - 235 five minute theatre pieces selected to take part in a 24 hour online broadcast of live theatre, taking place on Tuesday 21st June 2011, from 5pm until 5pm the following day.The National Theatre of Scotland's Five Minute Theatre project will feature over 1000 performers in eleven countries.

Million selling author Justin Somper discusses Immortal War, the sixth and final book in his cult Vampirates series. Vampirates fuses the popular vampire and pirate genres, and a Vampirates stage production goes on tour this September until March 2012.

Charles Gant reviews this week's films, including Green Lantern, Bad Teacher and The Beaver, and Claire Armistead reviews books.

And we look ahead to the Manchester International Festival, which will be staging world premieres by a number of big names from the worlds of theatre, music and arts. One of the participants, Victoria Wood, tells us about the new play she has written for the event.
