Music from The Band to Blur? Wonderfully observed northern ramblings? Just enough of the news to keep you informed at the water cooler? Plus comedian Simon Day in the studio? Done.

Do you want too much chat, not enough music and too many adverts? Try someone else. Want the perfect balance of brilliant alternative music and waking witticisms? Try us. A rib-tickling satirical romp through the day's news and events, to the perfect morning soundtrack for anyone music-lover; from northern soul to new folk; rock 'n' roll to indie disco. New tracks from the likes of Friendly Fires and Foals are nestled in next to the back catalogues of Hendrix and The Smiths. Shaun is joined live in studio by Matt Everitt for an irreverent take on the day's music news and comedian Simon Day joins after 9am.

Simon Day began his career as a stand up comic, winning the Time Out New Act of the Year Award in 1991. He worked extensively with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer before rising to prominence in The Fast Show. As well as making many television appearances, he has toured extensively performing as his comic characters. His new book 'Comedy and Error' is a dark and dramatic memoir telling his amazing laugh out loud story of drugs, crime and comedy. In parts shocking and sad, he recalls how a nice middle class boy from the suburbs became a petty thief, living rough and stealing whatever he could to fund an addiction to gambling .
