Jonathan Edwards introduces live coverage of the annual European Team Championships from Stockholm, as Great Britain strives to better last year's second place.
The British team face champions Russia and 10 other nations in the two-day competition, which is now in its third year. The highlight of this opening day promises to be the men's 100m, featuring a possible rematch between Britain's Dwain Chambers and Christophe Lemaitre. Chambers dipped under 10 seconds for the first time in nine years to put Lemaitre in his place at the 2010 competition, but the Frenchman avenged that defeat to take gold at the European Championships.
Other British winners on the opening day last year were European and Commonwealth champion Dai Greene in the 400m hurdles, Mo Farah over 5,000m, Martyn Rooney in the 400m, and Colin McCourt in the 1,500m.
