Ten civilians are killed after gunmen and suicide bombers attacked one of the main hotels in Kabul and a huge fire threatens the Los Alamos nuclear laboratory in New Mexico.

Up All Night is live in Kabul speaking to residents and journalists watching as Nato helicopters are called in to end a five hour militant attack on the Intercontinental Hotel. At least ten civilians are killed as well as all of the insurgents.

A huge wildfire in the US state of New Mexico forces the closure of the Los Alamos nuclear laboratory.

There are violent clashes between police and demonstrators, after thousands take to the streets of Athens to protest against plans to introduce further austerity measures.
