There are not enough Asian teachers in UK classrooms, warns the teachers union NUT. Plus, poor quality surgical instruments from Pakistan are posing a danger to patients in the UK.
Not enough Asians are becoming teachers. That's the warning from the National Union of Teachers. It says around 20% of the country's pupils are from ethnic minorities - but just over 6% of teachers.
Poor-quality surgical instruments from Pakistan are being supplied to British hospitals, leaving patients here vulnerable to potentially life-threatening injury or infection.
