Jamie selects an archive Barbara Thompson recording from 1978. In a new interview, Barbara tells the story of the recording and talks about her career as a female jazz musician.

This week, Jamie selects an archive recording of Barbara Thompson's Paraphernalia first broadcast on Jazz in Britain in 1978. And in a new interview, the English jazz saxophonist, flautist and composer, introduces the recording and tells the story of how it came about. She also talks about the challenges she overcame back then, as a female jazz artist who refused to play standards, and her subsequent career.
