With unprecedented access, the programme follows the songwriting process from pencil and paper to public performance and investigates how the chart single has changed over the last 50 years.

Featuring contributions from songwriters Boy George and Neil Tennant and the legendary Motown songwriter Lamont Dozier. Other contributors include professional songwriter Brian Higgins and Britain's latest contemporary pop phenomenon, Jessie J.
