Gideon Coe brings you all the news from Mercury Music Prize 2011 nominations launch. As the music industry gears itself up to find out which twelve acts make this year's shortlist, 6Music will be the first to bring you the news from the launch in central London. The music news team, plus nominations host herself Lauren Laverne, will be checking in with Gid throughout to bring you the lastest news and reaction.

Plus Noah And The Whale join Gideon for a live session in the 6Music studios. The Twickenham band stormed back into the UK album charts in March with the release of their third album Last Night On Earth, a record that was heavily influence by the likes of Tom Petty, especially on the single L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N. Following a stunning set at Glastonbury which immediately sent their album back into the upper reaches of the charts, the band return to 6Music to play a special session this morning.
