The Scottish Senior Open returns to the 'home of golf' at Fairmont St. Andrews for the third time. The Sam Torrance designed course has recently received a 17 million pound revamp and the Scottish Senior Open will be the fourth professional tournament to be staged there since re-opening of the course.

One of the premier tournaments on the European Senior Tour schedule, the Scottish Senior Open boasts an impressive list of competitors including Sam Torrance, Carl Mason and Ian Woosnam. The iconic event will host some of the most revered names in golf, as they compete for the coveted title.

The over-50s event will take place from August 19-21, 2011, and Torrance, who won the Scottish Senior title in 2006, will look to triumph on his newly-designed course after finishing behind Barry Lane in the 2009 event. However, the 2002 Ryder Cup Captain will face stiff competition from what promises to be a talented field.
