In the feature Baby What A Big Surprise [they really were Number One albums] we hear Scarlet Ribbons (For Her Hair) by Harry Belafonte - the first Caribbean artist to top the album chart; and Aquarius from the 1969 recording of Hair, which was the first Broadway Cast album to reach number one for five years.
In regular feature The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, songs are featured from LPs by Little Feat (Feats Don't Fail Me Now) and Trisha Yearwood (Trisha Yearwood). It's Not The Same Old Song highlights Tonight by Ferrante & Teicher and a different song with the same title by Kool & The Gang.
In A Matter Of Life And Death, Paul celebrates the birth on this date in 1942 of Gerry Marsden of Gerry & The Pacemakers. He also pays tribute to the recently deceased writer Wardell Quezergue with Robert Parker's recording of Barefootin. Unforgettable by Dinah Washington and Up-Up And Away by the 5th Dimension are this week's featured songs from the Grammy Hall Of Fame of Singles.
Our R&B Number Ones are from 1973 - Higher Ground by Stevie Wonder - and this week - So In Love by Jill Scott & Anthony Hamilton. We hear Country Number Ones from 1968 and now by Jeannie C. Riley and Lady Antebellum. This week's past and present Rock Number Ones are by the Rolling Stones (Start Me Up from 1981) and Foo Fighters (Walk).
Lil Wayne's album Tha Carter IV remains the Number One US album. On the singles side, Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera is Number One.
