Tom Robinson reflects seven days of online music conversation on air, as 6 Music listeners collaborate to build an REM-themed playlist.
R.E.M's sudden announcement that they are no more shocked the online music world. A flood of responses, thank yous, and sharing of memories occurred across blogs, as the news even managed to overshadow the 20th anniversary of Nirvana's Nevermind.
Tom Robinson introduces a playlist based around Stipe and co's fantastic decades in music which is based on listeners' suggestions. We also look at the albums which have been streaming ahead of release this week, including Wilco; the hottest new videos; and invite bloggers A New Band a Day and Rawkblog onto the show to tell us what they've been listening to.
