Sir Tim Rice presents his choice of the best of music from the 1960s.

Sir Tim Rice plays this week's selection of Sixties hits and rarities including tracks from Billie Davis, The Beatles, Nina & Frederick, The Chance, Len Barry, Val Doonican, The Who, Cream, the Everlys and Gary U.S. Bonds. For Sounds Of The Sixties dance fans it's the Mashed Potato.

The Chronicles look back to the launch of Britain's first nuclear sub (but what was its name?), a new prime minister - Sir Alex Douglas Home, the opening of a modern day Romeo and Juliet which was to change the face of the musicals, the first power from Dounreay, the start of The Magic Roundabout, the protest at the Mexico Olympics and who set the record for the most number of curtain calls - an astonishing 89?
