The word Burban has been slowly creeping into the lexicon of many of the UK's Asian MCs and Rappers. As the Summer Of Mela's 2011 ended, the likes of many in the scene including Shizzio, Raxstar, Mr Rikz to name a few have been pushing the label 'Burban'. At the recent Brit Asia Music Award's in London, there was a 'Burban' showcase which featured many of the artists listed and more! But what exactly does Burban mean? Is this a positive look for the scene or is it simply pushing music into another corner?
