Money experts Alvin Hall and Martin Lewis add up the cost of a university degree, and Alastair McKee reports on a project to restore a canal linking the Severn and the Thames.

Inside Out West meets a teenager from Wiltshire who has decided not to apply for a university place because of the increased tuition fees. Can employers and current students at the University of the West of England convince her to change her mind? Money experts Alvin Hall and Martin Lewis do the maths to work out just how much a degree could cost using the government's loan scheme.

Plus, Alastair McKee reports on a multi-million pound project to restore a canal through the Cotswolds. The waterway will eventually provide a link between England's two longest rivers, the Severn and the Thames. But some landowners are unhappy about the idea.
