Stark talk is with Dr James Robson, recently awarded a fellowship from the Royal College of surgeons for his contribution to sports medicine and safety.
He is SRU National Team doctor and Head of Medical services and has worked as rugby physiotherapist and doctor for twenty years., including five British and Irish Lions tours.
James Robson, from Cumbria talks to Edi about his introduction to sports medicine, his love of rugby and the Scottish players he regards as 'his sons'.
He recalls with emotion, the difficult situations he he's had to deal with, including the near catastrophic injury of Scottish player Thom Evans and is typically outspoken about the issues which surround a potentially dangerous sport, particularly since the professionalization of the game.
