In the Premier League, Manchester United host Sunderland on the eve of Sir Alex Ferguson's 25-year anniversary as manager at Old Trafford. He comes up against one of his former captains, Steve Bruce, who has failed to beat his mentor in 17 attempts since he became a manager. Not only that, but history is further against Bruce's Black Cats side given that they have not won at Old Trafford since 1968. Elsewhere, Man City travel to play QPR while Liverpool host Swansea.
Plus the best of the action from the midweek Championship programme.
