The wife of a Liberal Democrat MP who was given a nine month suspended sentence for stealing a cat from the home of her husband's lover has told this programme that her conviction and punishment were totally unjustified. In her first interview since being sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court in October, Christine Hemming says she'd just asked her husband, John Hemming, the MP for Birmingham Yardley, to move out of the marital home - and she was under intense stress as a result.
