Russell pays tribute to singer Barbara Lea and trombonist/arranger Bob Brookmeyer, who both departed over the holiday season.
We hear Barbara treating a rare Cole Porter item with reverence at the start of the programme and we close with her Pocketful Of Dreams, both with trumpeter Johnny Windhurst. And we celebrate Bob Brookmeyer's work as an instrumentalist (Trav'lin' Light with Big Miller and the Kansas City 7; and arranger for Ray Charles (Just For A Thrill) and Jack Teagarden (Tain't So, Honey).
