Mrs Mary Matheson spent many years living in Langass while her late husband, Hugh, worked as a gillie for North Uist Estates. Her husband was also a well-known singer and she recalls his love of songs. Their son, Seumas, tells of his formative years living in the village consisting of only two houses.
