A South Korean couple have been rescued from the cruise ship Costa Concordia after it ran aground off the Italian coast. Efforts to find others still missing are continuing. We speak to Sean Willits, whose parents were on the ship and luckily are safe and well. He says it took them 90 minutes to get off the ship and into a lifeboat. Plus shipping expert Malcolm Latarche discusses why the disaster might have happened.
At least 50 people have been killed and more than 130 have been injured after a suicide bomber targeted Shiite pilgrims near the Southern port city of Basra in Iraq. Vali Nasr, who served in the Obama administration between 2009 and 2011 as senior adviser and is an expert on sectarian conflict in the Middle East, told us he thinks these attacks will increase the polarisation of sectarian factions in Iraq.
The leader of Qatar says Arab troops should be sent into Syria to put an end to the violence there. Rami Khouri, the director of the Issam Fares Institute of Public Policy and International Affairs at the American University of Beirut, tells us it is unlikely to work but says Syria must be taking notice of the changing mood in the Arab world.
