The Early Years formed in 2004, brought together by a love of German bands such as Neu, Can and Harmonia. They signed to Beggars Banquet in 2006 and three EPs and their self-titled debut album soon followed. They also released two singles and a digital download EP on independent mark of quality Sonic Cathedral.
An acknowledged influence on the Horrors "Primary Colours" album, other high profile fans included Brian Eno and Can vocalist Damo Suzuki - who invited the band to perform as his backing band for a one off improvised show at Sonic Cathedral in 2006.
The band went on temporary hiatus in 2008 but returned for a "one-off" live show in 2011. This turned out to be not so one off after a limited 7" single turned into The Memory Case digital EP. The band are now working on a new album to be released later this year.
