The parents of a nurse killed by her ex-boyfriend while he was out on bail are one step away from changing the law on granting bail.
The parents of a nurse killed by her ex-boyfriend, whilst he was out on bail on charges of repeatedly raping her, are a step closer to changing the law to allow prosecutors to appeal against decisions to grant bail. Jonathan Vass was sentenced to thirty years in jail for stabbing Jane Clough in the car park of the hospital where she worked in July 2010. Several months earlier he'd been charged with raping her nine times, including whilst she was heavily pregnant with their child. Jane Clough's parents Penny and John Clough have been campaigning for a change in the law ever since.
Also many Greeks are set for more cuts to their pay, more cuts to their pensions and more job losses. That's after the Greek parliament agreed a new austerity package required to secure a hundred and thirty billion Euro bailout from the International Monetary Fund and European Union. The government hopes the plan will help the country avoid going bankrupt and keep Greece in the Eurozone. Victoria speaks to a number of protestors who were on the streets of Athens last night.
