Andrew Collins sits in

Andrew Collins sits in for Shaun Keaveny and takes a satirical romp through the day's news, plus he's joined by author Pat Long.

Do you want too much chat, not enough music and too many adverts? Try someone else. Want the perfect balance of brilliant alternative music and waking witticisms? Try us.

Andrew sits in for Shaun.....again, and chats with former NME journalist and now author, Pat Long. His new book looks back at the NME and is a history of British indie and underground media and rock culture since the Second World War, featuring contributions from some of the most famous and notorious music journalists in Britain. As well as being a staffer at NME for six years, Pat has written about music for The Guardian, Uncut, Q, Select and Kerrang!.

All this plus a rib-tickling satirical romp through the day's news and events, to the perfect morning soundtrack for anyone music-lover; from northern soul to new folk; rock 'n' roll to indie disco. New tracks from the likes of Friendly Fires and Foals are nestled in next to the back catalogues of Hendrix and The Smiths. Andrew is joined live in studio by Matt Everitt for an irreverent take on the day's music news.
