An exclusive interview with a woman who was jailed for perverting the course of justice after she falsely retracted an allegation of rape against her husband.
A woman who was jailed for perverting the course of justice, after she falsely retracted an allegation of rape against her husband, says she'll take her case to The Supreme Court. The 29 year old woman, who we're calling "Sarah" failed in a bid to get her criminal conviction overturned at the court of appeal last week. She served only 18 days of an 8 month jail sentence in November 2010 after appealing against the sentence.
"Sarah" was jailed NOT because the allegation was false - police believe she WAS raped; but jailed because her retraction was false. In other words, she was perverting the course of justice. And that criminal record still stands.
The Bolton Wanderers manager, Owen Coyle, gives the latest on his player, Fabrice Muamba, who remains under anaesthetic in intensive care in hospital in London.
