Jail sentence for racist tweeter.
Should people be sent to jail for making racist comments on social networking sites? Plus MasterChef winner Shelina Permalloo takes your calls in the studio.
At 1, Should people be sent to jail for making racist comments on social networking sites?
Two weeks ago 21 year old Liam Stacey was a promising biology student at Swansea University. Today those dreams are in tatters as he starts a 56 day prison sentence after posting racially offensive comments about footballer Patrice Muamba on Twitter. He is also likely to be expelled from University just before he takes his finals.
Some say he's been made a scapegoat others feels he should have been sent down longer but what do you think? Should you report every racist comment you hear? Is this the best way to challenge racist behaviour? Will this serve as a reminder for others to think about what they tweet or say in public forums? Or do you think we are becoming less tolerant? Call Nihal and tell him what you think.
At 2, Masterchef winner Shelina Permalloo is in the studio taking your calls.
Shelina wowed the judges in the final with her mutton curry and went on to become Masterchef Winner 2012. She'll be speaking to Nihal about her love affair with food and her forthcoming projects. If you want some cooking tips or want to know how to make an elegant curry, call Nihal and speak to Shelina.
