John Shea continues 大象传媒 Radio 3's celebration of The Spirit of Schubert with a selection of Schubert's songs from the last years of his life, and a series of Landler for violin. Plus a performance of the oratorio Lazarus which he composed aged just 23 to a text by Protestant poet and theologian August Niemayer. Schubert subtitled the work Easter Cantata. Like so many of his works it received its premiere posthumously, in 1863.
