Jay claims to DS Crisp he saw Andrew in the Square at the time Heather was murdered, he鈥檚 innocent. Phil looks for Jay. Phil鈥檚 unsettled to find Ben alone with George. Ben panics Jay鈥檚 going to grass him up, Phil reassures him. Shirley鈥檚 determined to keep George with her. Phil stops Ben from running away, but agrees he can quit school. Jay explains to Phil he only told the police what he had to. Phil admits he鈥檚 tired. He insists they can help Ben. Finding Ben crying, Jay hugs him, he wants his brother back. However, Jay promises Ben he鈥檒l put him down if he sees his other side again. After Andrew鈥檚 release, Phil gives the boys a pep talk. Going to his room, Ben pulls the bloodstained picture frame out from under his mattress.
Dot鈥檚 mortified when she, Rose and Cora are brought home in a police car. Rose and Cora are keen to celebrate Andrew鈥檚 imminent release, Dot thoughts are only for Heather. Rose鈥檚 thrilled when Andrew eventually gets home, but Dot鈥檚 wary.
The arrival of Tanya鈥檚 sofa prompts a frenzy of cleaning and redecorating. Lauren鈥檚 unimpressed to find the family moving her belongings, but is touched to discover they鈥檙e throwing her a family birthday party. Lucy鈥檚 planned an extravagant eighteenth for Lauren. Whitney can鈥檛 afford it, and Lucy鈥檚 dismayed when Lauren decides to celebrate in the Vic.
Alfie has money worries, Roxy suggests sacking a chef. Kim votes for Ray, who doesn鈥檛 believe she means it. Jean鈥檚 distraught when Alfie fires her, but Roxy despairs when he re-hires her as events manager.
Ian鈥檚 family tree includes a variety of different sized photos, so Mandy and Bobby start again. Though harbouring doubts, Ian eventually agrees Mandy can appear on the family tree.
