From the Wigmore Hall in London, Petroc Trelawny presents the conclusion of a concert featuring the Gould Piano Trio. They perform Dvorak's Piano Trio in E minor, Op 90 (Dumky).

Presented by Petroc Trelawny

Live from the Wigmore Hall

The Gould Piano Trio, who celebrate their twentieth anniversary this year, play Trios in G minor & E minor (Dumky) by Dvor谩k and an arrangement of Jan谩cek's String Quartet No.1.

The Dvor谩k Trios are favourite works in the chamber music repertoire, though Korber's arrangement of Jan谩膷ek's String Quartet No. 1 is less often heard. Composed in just sixteen days in 1923, the quartet takes as its point of departure Tolstoy's novella 'The Kreutzer Sonata', which tells of a husband's jealousy after his wife rehearses Beethoven's great work with a dashing violinist.
