In the feature Headline News [Number One Albums On Noteworthy Days] we hear Born Under A Bad Sign from Cream's double LP Wheels Of Fire. It was number one on 28 August 1968 - the day on which there was a police riot at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago . We also hear Dream Weaver by Gary Wright from the soundtrack album for Wayne's World. It was number one on 30 March 1992 - the day on which The Silence Of The Lambs won the "Big Four" Oscars.

In regular feature The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, songs are featured from albums by Cliff Richard and Stevie Winwood (with the Spencer Davis Group). While It's Not The Same Old Song highlights The Love You Save by Joe Tex and a different song with the same title by The Jackson 5.

In A Matter Of Life And Death, Paul celebrates the birth on this date in 1949 of John Oates by playing his hit with Daryl Hall Out Of Touch. We also hear Foggy Mountain Breakdown by Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs. It is played in tribute to banjo player Earl Scruggs, who recently died.

(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin and You Really Got Me by The Kinks are this week's featured records from the Grammy Hall Of Fame Singles list.

Our R&B Number Ones are from 1973 - Neither One Of Us (Wants To be The First To Say Goodbye) by Gladys Knight & The Pips, and this week - Love On Top by Beyonce. We hear Country Number Ones from 1983 and now by Kenny Rogers & Sheena Easton and Taylor Swift. While this week's past and present Rock Number Ones are by R.E.M. and Gotye featuring Kimbra.

The soundtrack album for The Hunger Games enters the album chart at number one and We Are Young by fun is the number one single.
