The first of the weekend's semi-finals is an all-SPL clash between Aberdeen and Hibernian at Hampden.

Supporters of the Leith side will be hoping for a win today with dreams of returning to Hampden in May and ending a 110-year wait since they last lifted the Scottish Cup. That was back in 1902 and was the second time they won the competition - they were also victorious in 1887.

Aberdeen have lifted the trophy seven times in total and have had more recent Cup success than their opponents today. They enjoyed four wins in the eighties during the Alex Ferguson era - and the Dons' most recent victory was in 1990 when they defeated Celtic - the first final to be decided by a penalty shoot-out.

Today's match pits the tactical wits of 71-year-old veteran Aberdeen manager Craig Brown against those of 43-year-old Hibs boss Pat Fenlon, who was appointed to the Easter Road job last November.

Introduced by Rob Maclean with former Aberdeen and Hibs striker Mixu Paatelainen and Pat Nevin.
