Norway: Kirsti Dinnis

A poem to capture the spirit of each competing nation in the 2012 Games. Norwegian adventurer Thor Heyerdahl is the subject of Jan Erik Vold's poem, read by Norway's Kirsti Dinnis.

Thor Heyerdahl was a Norwegian adventurer who became notable for his Kon-Tiki expedition, in which he sailed across the Pacific Ocean in a self-built raft from South America to the Tuamotu Islands in 1947. 'Thor Heyerdahl's mother' is by Jan Erik Vold and is read by Norwegian mother and grandmother Kirsti Dinnis.
