Ceanglaichean Gearmailteach a Stamhain. Le Ailean Caimbeul agus Lachaidh MacGill-脤osa. Thomas Telford's connection with Staffin. With Allan Campbell and Lachie Gillies.
Tha Lachaidh MacGill-脤osa ag innse do dh' Ailean Caimbeul mu na ceangalan a th'aig Stamhain ri T貌mas Telford. Tha iad an uairsin a' gluasad chun an Lethallt agus tha Lachaidh ag aithris eachdraidh buinnig na cailc (diatomite) an sin, agus na ceangalan a bh' ann leis a' Ghearmailt mu 脿m a' chiad chogaidh. Tha e cuideachd a' toirt iomradh air mar a tha sluagh a' s矛oladh agus mar a dh'fhalbh iasgach a' bhradain.
Staffin crofter and historian Lachie Gillies tells Allan Campbell of the significant connection the area has with Thomas Telford. They then move to Lethallt and Lachie describes the diatomite mining which operated in the area at various stages from 1899 until the industry failed in the late 1950s. Lachie also describes the German connection and the legends which developed from this during and after the First World War.
Lachie also describes how the population of the area is declining and tells of the significant salmon fishery which was associated with this area until comparatively recently.
