Racism in school
Nihal asks whether parents are to blame for kids being racist in school. Plus he talks to Craig Summers about his book, Bodyguard: My Life on the Front Line.
We're asking today are parents to blame for kids being racist in school?
According to figures obtained by the 大象传媒 Asian Network there were almost 90,000 racist incidents between 2007 and 2011. The worst areas were in Birmingham. Other areas showed massive increase in the number of reported events. Its clear that racism in schools is a massive problem but who do you think is to blame for the behaviour of racist children?
Do these problems come from the home? Are the parents to blame for giving these kids the attitudes that comes out in the racist incidents reported here?
Later, Nihal talks to Craig Summers about his new book, Bodyguard: My Life On The Front Line.
If you've watched any reporter or correspondent doing something incredibly dangerous or dealing with dodgy characters on 大象传媒 news or current affairs shows over the last ten years, there's a good chance that Craig Summers was standing pretty close by. For over a decade he was the 大象传媒's go to man when they needed to send correspondents to war zones or when programmes like Panorama wanted to expose football hooligans or people traffickers.
