The 2012 Aldeburgh Festival opens with a bang as two of the most imaginative children's books by the late Maurice Sendak are brought to life in an opera double bill from the festival's artist in residence Oliver Knussen. Ryan Wigglesworth conducts the Britten Sinfonia with a cast including Susanna Andersson, Susan Bickley, Claire Booth, Lucy Schaufer, Graeme Broadbent, Graeme Danby, Jonathan Gunthorpe and Christopher Lemmings in Where the Wild Things Are and Higglety Pigglety Pop!
