Brian Matthew with the hits and rarities, facts and figures and the stories behind the songs of pop's golden decade, including Bobby Vee, Elvis, Manfred Mann, Lesley Gore and more.

Brian Matthew with this week's Sounds Of The Sixties including hits, rarities, facts, trivia and the stories behind the songs.

Bobby Vee says The Night Has A Thousand Eyes, Jimmy Jones is a Handyman, Elvis can't go on with Suspicious Minds and PP.Arnold thinks The First Cut Is The Deepest. As well as those hits there are requests from The Golden Ear-Rings, Manfred Mann, Lesley Gore, Herman's Hermits, Don Charles and David McWilliams.

The Small Faces fifth chart hit, My Mind's eye, turned out to be a deal-breaker but why? Meanwhile Episode Six's track, I Can See Through You, is considered to be a fine example of the group's work; but which rocker went from that group to Deep Purple? And who was voted top UK vocal personality of 1967? PS - it wasn't Tony Blackburn!

Brian knows the answers to all these questions - join him to share them.
