In the feature Headline News [Number One Albums On Noteworthy Days] we hear Reason To Believe by Rod Stewart from his album Every Picture Tells A Story. It was number one on 1 October 1971, when Disney World opened near Orlando, Florida. We also hear Don't Know Why by Norah Jones from Come Away With Me. It was number one on 1 February 2003 when the Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrated.

In the regular feature The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, tracks are played from albums by Julie London and Foo Fighters. It's Not The Same Old Song highlights Jesse by Janis Ian and a different song with the same title by Carly Simon.

In A Matter Of Life And Death Paul celebrates the birth on this date in 1941 of the successful Motown song writer Lamont Dozier. We hear his first hit as an artist Why Can't We Be Lovers by Holland-Dozier featuring Lamont Dozier. We also hear The Great Pretender by The Platters, which is played in tribute to the group's bass singer Herb Reed who recently died. Paul continues his countdown of the Top 100 list of songwriters based on success in the American chart from 1955 - 2005. We hear songs written by Jeff Lynne (Number 94) and Bryan Adams (Number 93).

Our R&B Number Ones are from 1972 - Woman's Gotta Have It by Bobby Womack, and this week - Next Breath by Tank. We hear Country number ones from 1968 and now by Glen Campbell and Luke Bryan. This week's featured past and present Rock hits are by The Black Crowes and The Black Keys. John Mayer's album Born And Raised remains at the top of the chart. On the singles side, Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen is the best-selling song for a third week.
