Mission to Lars

Keavo takes a rib-tickling satirical romp through the day's news and events, plus he chats to directors Will Spicer and James Moore about their film Mission to Lars.

Shaun Keaveny takes a rib-tickling satirical romp through the day's news and events, with the perfect morning soundtrack for any music-lover; from northern soul to new folk; rock 'n' roll to indie disco. New tracks from the likes of Wild Beasts and Florence & The Machine delightfully wrap around your semi-conscious ears, along with the best of the greatest back catalogues on the planet; be they The Smiths, The Stones, The Clash or The Jam.

All this plus a chat with directors Will Spicer and James Moore about their new documentary - Mission To Lars. Will's brother Tom has Fragile X, a form of autism and lives in a care home in Devon. Tom is obsessed with Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich and has spent 20 years asking to meet the great man. The new film is a powerful road movie that follows Tom and his sibling's quest to meet Lars.

They chat with Shaun about the film and how Tom's condition, dysfunctional family and Metallica's labyrinthine backstage world thwart the mission at every turn.
