A British man living in Damascus explains how he is adapting to life in a war zone. We dedicate the phone-in to cycling ahead of Bradley Wiggins' expected Tour de France victory.

Dotun Adebayo with news at home and abroad. A British photographer who's been living in Damascus for the past 10 years tells Up All Night how he and his neighbours are learning to live in the shadow of a civil war. John Wreford describes how he lay awake in bed listening to fighting in the alleyways near his home in the old centre of the capital.

The United Nations and global affairs blogger Mark Leon Goldberg shares his views on where the US will go from here. His comments follow the failure of the latest diplomatic efforts at the UN to impose sanctions on Syria. He tells Dotun he believes officials in Washington will now seek support from outside the United Nations.

Ahead of Bradley Wiggins' expected victory on Sunday in the Tour de France, Up All Night dedicates its phone-in to British cycling. Manchester bike shop owner Greg Duckworth, and cycling expert Daniel Benson, take calls and answer questions on a wide range of subjects from how to train for a 600 mile bike ride, the correct size of bike for someone weighing 150 kilos, to whether or not cyclists should pay road tax.

Jamie Stangroom joins Dotun for a round-up of the latest new music. He also looks ahead to this weekend's Tramlines festival in Sheffield, with a taster of some of the bands performing, as well as an interview with a member of the headline act, 'We Are Scientists'.

And our man in Hollywood, Peter Bowes, has an exclusive interview with the executive producer of Downton Abbey on the day the wartime drama is named a contender for the top prize at this year's Emmys. But it faces tough competition for the title of best drama from Mad Men which is up for its fifth award.
