Brian Matthew returns with a blend of classic tracks and rare sounds from this defining era, including Toby Twirl, Nat King Cole, the Shirelles, David Bowie and the King Brothers.

This week Brian Matthew returns to delight you with more musical facts and insight in to music scene of the 1960s.

In December 1967 Otis Redding recorded (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay, which features one of the most famous whistling sections of any hit song - but what is the bittersweet legacy that lies behind it?

Among the requests this week we have a special track from Toby Twirl, with a song inspired by an old Spanish City funfair based in the north east of London.

Nat King Cole, The Shirelles, David Bowie, The King Brothers and many more provide the music and we will be Playing Hard To Get with The Shadows alongside all the usual musical features.
