Wurlitzer Academy at Rye College

Nigel Ogden talks to the co-founder of the Wurlitzer Academy at Rye College, Michael Wooldrige, and we hear some of his pupils perform on the school's historic instrument.

The Wurlitzer Academy at Rye College uses one of the oldest instruments in the country and provides a great opportunity for the schools pupils to try something different. Nigel Ogden talks to professional organist and teacher Michael Wooldridge and some of his pupils at the Academy about its early days, its future, and how it attracts todays generation of keyboard players. They also talk about their recent inspirational trip to an American Organ Convention in LA and demonstrate the sound of this historic organ, only the 3rd Wurlitzer ever to be brought into the country.
