We're at the Republican Party convention in Florida where Mitt Romney's running mate in the presidential election, Paul Ryan, sets out his vision to revive the US economy.

News from home and abroad with Rhod Sharp.

We hear the keynote speech from the man who could be the next Vice President of the United States - Paul Ryan - as he addresses the Republican convention in Tampa, Florida. Hear reaction to his speech and how it went down among delegates.

We're also live in New Orleans to speak to those affected by what was Hurricane Isaac. As the storm eases, the local fire service tell us, as far as they're aware, there have been no fatalities and that the biggest problem facing the city is the lack of power.

And Rhod speaks to a former CIA officer about a new book on the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Written by someone who says he played a part in the raid on the compound in Pakistan, it paints a very different picture to the one given by the US government. Robert Baer tells Rhod he believes this version sounds plausible.
