Jon Holmes sits in for Graham Norton over the summer, with Jonny Saunders back on Radio 2 to guide us through the sport, Bobbie Pryor's travel, and more hand-picked music for the discerning listener.
Each week there will be guests, with lady legends of sitcom including Nerys Hughes, Sue Pollard, Penelope Keith and Linda Robson, joining Jon to chat about their life and career.
Jon is showcasing brand new music talent on Radio 2 in a series of live sessions. So far, so usual. But in His Busker's Voice, the talent will quite literally be drawn from the streets, as Jon lines up Britain's best buskers to play live in the studio.
The Midday MashUp features two tunes that sound ridiculous on paper but make glorious sense when you hear them together. While Jon's KenBruceMaster quiz turns Ken Bruce's PopMaster quiz on its head. Instead of listeners answering questions about pop stars: on Saturdays, pop stars will answer (very surreal) questions about Ken Bruce.
In Toddler Pops, Jon invites listeners to identify the tune as played by a two year old on a toy glockenspiel (it could be anything from Coldplay, to the Rolling Stones by way of Iron Maiden). And a Radio 2 listener battles against Jon's studio guest in a game of names. They just have to correctly guess whether Elephant's Breath is the name of a band, or a paint colour, and similar conundrums in Band I Found On MySpace Or...
Jon Holmes is an eight time Sony award-winning writer and presenter, with two BAFTAs and two British Comedy Awards to his name, and one of his early credits was as a writer for Graham Norton's TV show.
