Former cyclist Tyler Hamilton reveals how he and his former teammate Lance Armstrong underwent blood transfusions and took the blood boosting agent EPO to improve performance.

News and current affairs from around the world with Rhod Sharp. The former cyclist Tyler Hamilton tells Up All Night how he and his former teammate Lance Armstrong underwent blood transfusions and took the blood boosting agent EPO to improve performance. Hamilton, whose book 'The Secret Race' lifts the lid on widespread doping in the peloton, says he hopes that one day Armstrong will admit to taking drugs. It follows the publication of a damning report by the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) which includes testimonies from 11 of Armstrong's former team mates. USADA says his racing team ran 'the most sophisticated, professionalised and successful doping programme' the sport has ever seen.

A Syrian passenger jet is forced to land in Turkey as relations between the two countries deteriorate and the civil rights campaigner Rev Jesse Jackson tells Rhod he supports the University of Texas which is defending its right to use affirmative action as part of it's student selection process. Abigail Fisher -- a white Texan woman -- is challenging their programme after she was refused a place at the university back in 2008.
