Last October, Chris Lindsay, a 34-year-old father of three from Edinburgh, died while on a weekend trip with workmates to Spain.
It looked like a case of alcoholic overindulgence. But he was found without his wallet, money or passport, and his body was badly cut and bruised. Despite this, the police never investigated whether he had been the victim of an attack.
