Ivo Neame and Octet in Concert

As part of the 大象传媒's piano season, Jez Nelson presents pianist Ivo Neame performing music with his octet, featuring saxophonist Jason Yarde and bassist Jasper Hoiby.

As part of 'Piano Season on the 大象传媒', Jez Nelson presents pianist Ivo Neame performing with his octet. Neame is a member of the Loop Collective and has played in many of the leading young British bands of the last five years, including Empirical, Kairos Quartet and Phronesis and, on saxophone, in Jim Hart's Gemini. His reputation as a composer and bandleader is gathering - following his quartet's debut album Caught In The Light of Day (2009), this performance features intricate but melodically strong music from his octet's new recording. The ensemble features Jon Shenoy and Shabaka Hutchings on clarinet, saxophonists Tori Freestone and Jason Yarde, Jim Hart (vibes), Jasper Hoiby (bass) and Dave Hamblett on drums.
