Hailing from Stockport the band consisted of two pop songwriters and two art school graduates Godley and Creme.

Godley and Creme's irrepressible leftfield creativity resulted in some peculiar spin-offs from the band, culminating with a double concept album Consequences and the invention of the Gizmotron.
